Kapstadt Brauhaus Stellenbosch

A Rugby World Cup Celebration

In the heart of Stellenbosch lies Kapstadt Brauhaus, a venue that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of camaraderie and celebration. As the Rugby World Cup 2023 reached its climax, Greg and I decided to immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic establishment.

A Venue Steeped in Tradition

Kapstadt Brauhaus is not just a pub; it’s a testament to Stellenbosch’s rich heritage and culture. With its rustic interiors, hearty German fare, and an extensive beverage menu, it’s a place where memories are made. While we opted for non-alcoholic beverages, the lime cordial and sparkling water became our drink of choice, offering a refreshing twist amidst the excitement.

A Game Like No Other

For many South Africans, rugby is more than just a sport; it’s an emotion. And for me, this World Cup was a journey of discovery. With Greg by my side, explaining the nuances of the games and his patience with teaching me the rules over the season, I found myself engrossed in the action, cheering for every try and tackle. The final match between New Zealand and South Africa was not just a game; it was an experience, amplified by the electric atmosphere of Kapstadt Brauhaus. I am honestly still receiving from the nerves of the game.

A Celebration to Remember

As the final whistle blew and South Africa emerged victorious, the joy and pride were palpable. The entire pub erupted in celebration, with strangers becoming friends, sharing high-fives, hugs, and dance moves. It was a moment of unity, a testament to the power of sport and the magic of Kapstadt Brauhaus.
