Kung Fu Chicken – (15 Min)

Kung Fu Chicken is a delightful dish that combines the sweetness of honey, the saltiness of soy sauce, and the aromatic flavor of garlic to create a sticky, sweet sauce that perfectly coats golden, tender chicken breast pieces. This recipe is simple yet packed with flavor, making it a perfect weeknight dinner option.

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornflour (cornstarch)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 3 tbsp light soy sauce
  • Boiled rice, for serving

 

    optional : Add Frozen Mixed hawiian veg

Instructions

  1. Dredge the Chicken:
    In a bowl, combine the cornflour, salt, and pepper. Dredge the chicken breast pieces in the mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.

2. Fry the Chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken pieces and fry until they are golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.

3.Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix honey, soy and boiling water, mixing until the honey has dissolved.

Then…

 Optional – Cook the veg: if opting for the healthier version, remove the chicken from the stove and add in your frozen Hawaiian veg. Add the same sauce again.
Add the chicken pieces and fry until they are golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Add the chicken back: In a bowl, mix honey, soy and boiling water, mixing until the honey has dissolved.
